In the Gap

In the Gap by Lidia Kenig
In the Gap by Lidia Kenig (c) 2017

Disappointed because something did not go as you envisioned? You may want to follow along and find out how I went about transforming my suffering.

Disappointment comes from wanting events and circumstances to be different from what they are while forgetting that the wanting comes from mental constructs we created but are not grounded in reality.

We move through life guided by thoughts and images we acquired and adopted as our own, from stories in movies, books and advertising that our society implicitly accepts as normative.

As such, our degree of happiness is measured on “shoulds” and “musts” that conform to what we tell ourselves is the norm.

The house with the white picket fence; the perfect mate with the perfect children who grow up smart and successful and go on to lead perfect lives, are someone else’s stories. The successful entrepreneur who played with a widget in the garage and became a multi-millionaire, and the bartender who was “discovered” by a movie tycoon are also great stories; just not ours.

When our relationships are “flawed”, when what we experience differs from what we thought, we desperately try to bring them into the perfection story line instead of welcoming them as learning experiences and explore the gifts of growth they offer.

Mired in disappointment, we focus on what did not go our way, and belittle what delighted us.

I painted this 6” x 6” x 1.25” cradled wood when I was learning a new technique. My newbie’s clumsiness with the behavior of the paints and the various mediums involved yielded an uninteresting surface. Colors I thought would pop and provide contrast got buried in layers underneath, unable to rise due to the consistency of my mixture.

Instead of trashing it, I set it aside to allow the paint to dry and cure.

Over the next few weeks, the square block would attract my attention. One day I playfully rubbed gold to add interest to the textural layers, but the art was not yet finished with me.

It would take yet another session, after dismissing all mental constructs about being faithful to the technique, that an important life lesson presented itself for healing and integration. I knew that the lesson had nothing to do with the failed technique.

When the background unhappiness about a recent big project became loud enough, I returned to the art seeking space and ease the anxiety. Instead, my openness to remove the obstacles standing in the way of joyousness allowed the painting process to yield understandings of the blocks I faced outside the studio.

Unexpectedly I witnessed the impact that family and close relationships can have on our sense of success, and I realized that in this instance, I measured my success based on the terms I perceive that my family respects. On those terms, I failed miserably!

As I began adding fuchsia-colored dots, I was able to relinquish the lovely but untrue story about some of these relationships. As dots continued on the sides of the canvas, whimsical white shapes appeared, enabling me to shut off my mind and focus on the clarity whiteness affords. Suddenly I saw the hidden yellows, and by adding more, I was able to visually increase the sense of light I sought with the rubbed gold.

The light may be helpful as I begin to relate differently with the people whose standards I took as my own. White lines may guide me as I learn to measure an event’s success the way I do when creating art: by the joy I feel. And how enriched I am when I notice similar feelings on viewers’ faces!

The painting became this morning’s meditation. In the images I see the vastness of the universe filled with possibility. I still don’t know what the new relationships will look like, including the one with myself. Yet with each colored dot I breathe deeply and release fear. Marveling at each whimsical shape I notice how fleetingly they move and how uncontained they are.

The shimmering gold reminds me that beneath its reflective layer there are still hidden colors clamoring to come through. What needs to be transformed is well-rooted in my psyche, and needs time, lots of self-love and compassion to safely surface.

The art mirrors the gap where I now dwell. As when I paint, it is in nothingness that truth shows up singing a clear tune, and sporting perfect colors, shapes and textures.

Creating meaningful lives need no stories, because truth shows up when we are patient and trust in the perfection of our very own path.

May you decide to transform your suffering by purchasing In the Gap

Finding Oneness

Finding Oneness by Lidia Kenig-Scher
Finding Oneness By Lidia Kenig-Scher

After I finished this painting, I could not understand what was teaching me. Every morning I would sit with it in meditation, and…nothing.

Placing it next to my computer, hoping for the writing to flow and a title, I could see that in fact, flowing may be involved. And the gold background with the silver swirls seemed to imply that there was something rich about it all.

The wordless words made its appearance again, so I knew that the art’s message was important, yet I was not ready to understand it. So I moved on, I painted another picture and wrote about other things.

It all changed months later after a week-long meditation retreat, when Patience rewarded me. The morning after, I felt pulled to the art, sensing that this was the time for me to hear what it had been eager to show me.

The gray tight arc on the bottom of the canvas guided me in and swept me into a dimension of shape, color, texture and line. The “letters” that appear to emanate from the wave, quickly moved me on to a bright angel-like figure in the center.

I kept on being pulled in and out of the canvas as I followed one curve and landed on another, until eventually my eyes and my body moved to the large sinuous forms above, where I instantly felt physically and emotionally cradled.

A breezy lightness caressed me and I began to make mellifluous sounds I had never known.

It was as if I was experiencing the entire universe both within me and outside of me in perfect orchestration. I was sometimes water and then I was earth. I became the wind and then I was light.

I saw the delightful sounds etched in the gold letters flow harmoniously about and I was happy.

Without a doubt I knew I found the state of Oneness.

The art was teaching me how to apply this knowledge in my everyday life. Look at the lines as if they are tree branches cast in the river. They are light, free, unencumbered by the past, not worried about the future.

Could I be a tree branch when I am in the grips of an emotionally charged situation?

The watery shapes mimic the currents of a river. As in life, when a situation or relationship stops us on our tracks and we get blinded by blaming, anger, guilt, and regret; we could instead acknowledge that we are stuck and carefully observe the terrain around us until we can begin to see and appreciate its riches.

Could I just breathe in the moment and see the goodness in the problem?

It may mean changing our vantage point to examine how we perceive what was happening. We could decide to see the other as a catalyst for what we needed to learn in that relationship. We could also look at the other as a mirror for what is lacking in our lives. And we could notice that the firm hand of the Divine was pushing us to learn a very necessary life lesson but we were afraid to look deeply.

Instead of being imprisoned by our emotions, or frozen with fear, we can be patient, remain alert and with gentleness of spirit, we could allow for the next wave-breath to release the grip the particular “rock” had on us.

It may take for us to move in and out of the situation. We may have to be gingerly pulled from rock to cove, until we become aware that we were never powerless, not we were ever alone.

Ahh…the riches!

If we could notice angels around us like in the painting, we will know that Spirit was present all the time, counseling us to float along with the currents as witnesses and reminding us that we are not separate from one another or anything.

Spirit is there even when the wind blows colder, and the waters turn murky and stormy. In embracing what we see as good or judge bad as being perfectly orchestrated for our growth, we find the crystalline clarity known as wisdom. It comes from our heart; it is Oneness and renders us very powerful.

May you be inspired to discover Oneness and make delicious sounds you never knew. Put this painting on your wall by clicking on Finding Oneness now.

Be Safe: Stay Grounded, Respect Your Path and Open Your Heart

Linda M Door Protector by Lidia Kenig-Scher
Linda M Door Protector by Lidia Kenig-Scher

The latest Door Protector was installed 2 weeks ago and my client reports seeing significant energy shifts in her life.  The movement actually started as soon as she commissioned it.

A well respected body-centered psychotherapist and much admired singer and song-writer, Linda M. ordered the sacred art as an important relationship was ending. And in creating the intention statement for the art, she was able to quickly see the learning that this relationship had brought her and effectively integrate the experience into her life.

Now she was eager to explore the many new possibilities for growth.

It was not a surprise that in my preliminary divination process I saw Hummingbird as her guiding animal spirit. Those who possess the medicine of this tiny but powerful bird dwell in Joy, can spend quality time in stillness, and are sources of hope and renewal for those who need it. They remain soft, adaptable and trusting knowing that Life loves them.

The card appeared upside down suggesting that although Linda has a strong meditation practice, is a fantastic mentor to musicians and an effective therapist, she may need time to fully embrace her gifts and talents, explore her dreams and commit to follow her intuition, sensing that a greater force is always supporting her.

My job in creating her art was to provide Linda with visual symbols that would help her to lean in, yet step back and admire the wealth of what she already has, while at the same time, remind her to “freely fly among Life’s flowers and partake of their sweet nectar”. This would insure that her heart remains open and that her gifts become a source of joy and abundance for all.

The three crystals that appeared further in the reading and are now on the Door Protector gave me strong guidance.

Cuprite, the triangle at the bottom of the art is a great grounding mineral; affirming that all we need is always provided for when we are rooted in the stillness of the earth and are grateful for all we have.

Charoite is the lilac colored stone in the middle, reinforcing that our skills and talents are in fact what allows us to walk our path of service. This ally’s energy helps us stay on our path and speak our truth.

Rhodonite is the heart’s healer reminding us that it is only by loving ourselves fully, that we can manifest love from others, as well as abundance and well-being for all.

These crystals form the focal point in the transformative cycle of a beautiful starry night into the dawning of a new day. The rising sun is crowned by the Wish Granting Jewel mantra, bestowing its blessings of unconditional love, balance, joy, gratefulness, right thinking, right speech, right concentration, and right action for the benefit of all and embedding these “nectars of truth” on garlands of magnificent flowers streaming through the stones.

When the client consciously connects with the vibrational energy of the symbols; in times of sorrow or pleasure, she will receive the essence of what the art carries: that wherever she is, it is the right path fully supported by benevolent Universal forces, helping her feel safe and protected from harm.

When she looks at her Door Protector installed above her front door, Linda can allow her life to unfold, while feeling whole, powerful and grateful.

Limited edition embellished prints of this art are available in the Door Protectors Gallery. Or you can commission a personalized art, by following the instructions on the Purchase Info Tab

Embracing Grace

Embracing Grace by Lidia Kenig-Scher
Embracing Grace by Lidia Kenig-Scher

It is how I create and teach others to create. Embracing Grace is an attitude of openness to the realm of the unknown with innocence and trust. It is also a heightened state of alertness to what is there in the present moment and allows me to discern the motivations behind the choices I make.

When I paint I am fearless

Assuming total responsibility for all of my choices, I acknowledge its results with acceptance and non-judgment. The resulting artwork is an example of how lovingkindness colors—pun intended–a life situation and assists I the painter and you the viewer to examine the completed piece, apply its lesson to the particular situation and provoke growth.

When I paint I am Buddha

Each year, as part of a mastermind group, I select a theme to guide my intentions and inspire my goal setting to experience my best year yet. Even though I have been successful planning this way, I always feel that goals are restrictive and intentions are time-sensitive.

Foregoing goals I decided to apply what I learned through creating art and live my whole life with one intention: Embracing Grace.

Naturally, my buddies wanted examples of how the theme would apply to mundane experiences fraught with relationships, weather, unexpected events and the normal ups and downs of living.  I replied that by embracing grace, I perceive every moment as a gift to unwrap so that their request for an expanded perspective most likely implied that I too needed to flesh it out.

Thus I posited that if I live my entire life steeped in utter curiosity, as when I paint, I would best learn how to be a force for goodness at this time in history; my only goal.

As such, I see the timing to work on a piece or begin new art as being always perfect. Colors and technique simply show up, and whatever else I may be guided to do, I know that I will find it in the art store, or the market, on the street or in the basement.

The right numbers of students appear for a class, and the methods and techniques I need to teach are effortlessly communicated yielding amazing artwork even from people who never painted.

When not enough students enroll in a scheduled course, it most likely indicates that a change of direction is in the offing, or that this is not a good time to hold this class. Soon I am offered a new project or my participation in an auspicious event becomes possible because the class was cancelled.

It is at these times that I am able to perceive my interconnection with Spirit and how I fit in the Divine plan. I see that I am not accidental and nor is anyone else. Whatever I do, say and think at any time is important. If I were not painting, or teaching, or being with a friend, or attending to a repair person, or cooking, or walking at that moment, existence would miss me.

Osho said that a feeling of joy and fulfillment arises when we become aware that each of us is crucial for the proper functioning of the universe. It means that we are “related to existence, and existence cares for [us]… “and this gives us “dignity”.

As I was painting this weekend, I felt the hands of existence guiding me to visually portray these feelings and afterwards, in meditating with the art, I realized that by respecting my dreams and desires, assuming the responsibility to pursue them, owning my choices, and choosing how I perceive my dreams’ unfolding also means accepting how my choices affect others.

Grace is a birthright and by embracing this I lovingly trust that others are also capable of making good choices for themselves in their own time.

When I paint Grace is in charge

And in living I pause often and yield to my intuition. I take inspired action, watch what happens and monitor my thoughts to maintain alignment with my stated purpose; to be a force for goodness at this time in history.

When I paint I am blessed

When I embrace grace I live a blissful life and I am a force for goodness!

Try it for yourself; I trust that you can Embrace Grace now!

Is it Mostly About Endings?

LauraC Door Protector by Lidia Kenig-Scher

The woman who installed this door protector in her home approximately a month ago wrote that so far, this has been mostly a journey about significant endings. She noticed which relationships or aspects of some of these liaisons drained her energy, and resolved to keep clear boundaries around them.

Laura C.  knows that she is making room for new relationships, situations, and opportunities and is quite passionate about it.

As she began to consciously focus on self-love, new levels of healing became available to her.  Deeply buried feelings of anger arose, yet she was able to move through the pain and shift it into hopefulness.

And then Laura noticed an increase in physical energy which enabled her to accomplish new tasks, entertain new business ideas and spontaneously start a powder room remodel on her own. Wow!!!

The powder room Laura considers symbolic of her brave and fresh outlook on life. She loves the creative aspects of the project, trusts that she will be able to complete it and find help if needed and revels in the courage it took to undertake it.

Above all, Laura trusts the unseen influences at work in her life sensing their protective and benevolent energies around her.

The divination that preceded the creation of this Door Protector guided me to provide lots of Water energy. This element represents our emotional intelligence beckoning us to accept our feelings and integrate them into the fabric of our lives.

Our life journey moves along like frothy water sprays that delights us, or like high waves by exciting us. The gentle undulating movement works with the tides and the wind yielding to wakes. “The higher the wave goes”, said Osho, “the deeper is the wake that follows it. One moment you are the wave, another moment you are the hollow wake that follows.”

Water cannot forever freeze as a wave, nor always be the wake. It moves along by virtue of being in continuous relationship with the elements. So it is that we move forward in life and experience growth through our human relationships.

Our natural ability to thrive depends on the emotional charge we invest in relationships and the levels of attachment we spend in maintaining them to make them into what we think they should be.

When we mirror the ocean we count on the variables for growth and transformation. We accept who and what we encounter expecting to find jewels after the storm. We trust that even when we can’t see land, the sea will carry us to the shore and witness a new dawn.

In the sacred art, Tourmalines of various colors and energetic properties bob above the waves easily and gracefully, surrounded by a golden bubble. These crystals were included to remind Laura that she will find the jewels of adventure, abundance, love, joy, peace and wellness by deepening her meditation practice and staying fiercely present to variables.

The 9 butterflies streaming from the mantra represent Spirit’s guidance whispering that Grace is a birthright. The mantra itself broadcasts truth, foretells of a magnificent dawn always rising to summon courage, unleash her creativity and live the life she came here to live.

Laura C is not seeking to know what her passion is. She is allowing her heart to speak by doing what she loves, taking time to savor both the waves and the wakes of her journey, feeling the wind as she looks for the jewels in the endings and expecting the sun to rise by passionately delighting in the possibilities.

It is Actually a Mirror

MSR Door Protector by Lidia Kenig
MSR Door Protector by Lidia Kenig (c) 2016

After many years of suffering by freely giving her power away, the owner of this door protector now feels empowered, enjoys being in relationship with herself and dwells in peace.

You may say that after a long history of allowing others to opine on her beauty, her talents, her hard-earned skills and her worth, commissioning a door protector simply transfers the power to an inanimate object. You’d be mistaken!

Art may only appear inanimate. Like anything else in the Universe, it consists of frequencies of energy with which we interact, largely unaware, at a core level and, like other frequencies, are constantly moving and changing. This movement is most affected by our consciousness.

Scientists have effectively demonstrated that EVERYTHING is energy vibrating at different levels. Our consciousness which is also vibrational energy, changes and it is changed by the interaction with other vibrations to produce thoughts, feelings and emotions that in turn create powerful frequencies.

Thoughts are real forces!

Depending on their strength, or emotional charge, these energies spin slower and appear solid, or materialize. Our mind is actually “the creator and governor of the realm of matter” wrote Johns Hopkins’ Richard C. Henry in The Mental Universe; Nature 2005.

Buddhism among other philosophies urges us to understand how the mind operates and care for the state of our consciousness. Its teachings focus on mind-fullness, or total awareness of energy; the physical, mental and spiritual space we share with the entire Universe.

When Mary lovingly gazes at her sacred art, she deems it beautiful and feels gratefulness toward me because she thinks that I created it. While the good feelings certainly help both of us, I was able to create her door protector by directing my thoughts in meditation, toward her vibrational frequencies and painted the beauty and gratefulness that are already within her.

Thus each creation is dramatically different, appearing as if several artists painted each resulting visual. Actually, several people did, when with their thoughts, each of those who commissioned a door protector “directed” what I physically painted.

You could say that a door protector is a two-way mirror.

All Door Protectors start with the Wish Granting Jewel Mantra-OM PADMO UNSHISHA VIMALE HUM PHAT.  Each syllable of the ancient mantra constantly emits very particular vibrations of unconditional love, balance, joy, gratefulness, right thinking, right speech, right concentration, and right action for the benefit of all in the household and all who see it or pass under it.

The essence of the protection the art offers is that it broadcasts awareness of what it takes to live a fulfilling life.

Together with the mantra, the images promote conscious connection with the higher self and higher guidance.  Colors, textures, shapes, and crystals become symbols that the art owners can connect with. The more they establish an intentional relationship with the images, the more they notice that the art is a mirror of their true selves and begin to trust that what is in it, is there for their benefit. Thereafter, the wishers are naturally guided to the thoughts and actions needed to manifest what is best for all involved, broadening their sense of self and walking the path of wholeness.

Mary wrote that since she ordered her door protector, her “business is booming bigger than ever”, and her “work is nothing but joy!” As you can see in her art, a sunrise disperses the clouds revealing rolling fertile hills and flowering trees. Mary’s life is flowering because she is looking in the mirror and recognizes who she truly is, a powerful, abundant and peaceful woman!

I hope you all follow Mary’s example, direct your thoughts to commission your own Door Protector and manifest your best wishes! Go to PURCHASE INFO – and browse the Door Protectors Gallery to order a print.

Life as You’ve Never Known It

Paula H Door Protector by Lidia Kenig
Paula H Door Protector by Lidia Kenig (c)

When I first spoke with Paula H, in her voice I heard confusion, despair, and a sense of being stuck. Her energy level was low, which she said was due to the negativity that surrounded her in just about all aspects of her life. She even seriously questioned the decision to move to Miami five years ago.

Not seeing her way out, she consulted mystics, therapists and doctors when a chance meeting with one of my former students coupled with testimonials she read about the sacred art I create, led her to commission a door protector this past April.

Paula was beaming when we chatted this morning and offered an impressive list of good news that started at about the time we installed the completed art via Skype, in her Miami home about 5 weeks ago.

The formerly unappreciated sales associate in a Biotech firm got a promotion with a substantial raise and a private office. She started diving regularly and appreciating the beauty she found under water and shared some beautiful pictures of recent diving trips with me.

New friends, resting better at night, and an improved relationship with a sister with whom she had not spoken in 2 years, led her to state that “for the first time in 5 years I enjoy living; I am a happy person, working in a successful business, enjoying my new friends and diving; and I love being in the water!”

While I cannot say that it was the art alone that helped manifest Paula’s dramatic improvements, I can say that it was a powerful catalyst since the moment she put in the order.

Masai Mara
Masai Mara

When the client first laid eyes on the art, she began to cry because the scene seemed to have come out of her computer’s screen saver; the sunset in Masai Mara, Kenya seen on left. The mountains, she was sure, were Mount Kilimanjaro, which she still had on her mobile device, all from a recent trip to Africa.

Mt Kilimanjaro
Mt Kilimanjaro

I too had to take a deep breath, as I had not known of her trip, nor had I seen the pictures. However, it reassured me that the intuitive work I engage in when I create these artworks that are installed above the door, come through me and not of me.

Seeing the photographs reminded me of the beauty and power of what comes through in each finished product and the breadth of the images, ranging from very realistic to extremely abstract work and a huge diversity of color schemes. Many clients have commented that what I produced deeply resonates with them and often it comes from past experiences.

I can say that the divination and meditation work I do before I start painting and that seems to inform the images and colors, is always correct. It is confirmed by the final report and consultation I provide to my clients, of which I also had no previous knowledge. Present in the images, are life situations that they may use to dive deeper and transform their present lot, as they live and work with their door protector.

In this case, the fog lifting from the mountains implies that in Paula’s life, her “fog” would lift through a greater reliance on developing intuition, trusting inner knowledge and connecting more deeply with Spirit’s counsel.

Eight silvery butterflies portend deep transformation, while one red butterfly at the rear predicts that it will happen very soon. Hematite flower petals, with a Phenacite crystal center, present opportunities for Paula to experience her inner light shining brightly.

Hematites have excellent grounding and balancing energy and are powerful aids in stimulating the mind, enhancing memory and evoking deep thinking. They also have a highly protective energy and are good to help women who lack courage and feel desperate and stuck.

Phenacites are rare crystals, here also seen crowning the mountains. They embody pure light and are known to continually beam blessings. They are also particularly helpful in healing the past and attracting angelic forces.

The mountain peaks are aimed at the gold leafed Tibetan script of the Wish Granting Jewel mantra * appearing to be beamed out of the brilliant afternoon sun, beckoning Paula to trust that her life is already transforming into a lovelier, warmer and brighter life.

paula-herman-pic A recent photo provided by Paula, is encouraging you to order your own door protector and begin to experience life as you’ve never know it! See the Door Protector’s Gallery and for more information on ordering your own, go to Commission a Door Protector.

Thank you, Paula and thank you to all the clients and collectors who have been enjoying the art, growing with it and gifting me with their trust and support!

Gliding Toward the Perfect Shore

Stacey Arb Door Protector -LidiaKenig
Stacey Arb Door Protector -LidiaKenig (c)

A Charoite boat, with a black and green Tourmaline boom, a pink Tourmaline mast and mirror sails is calmly aloft on the somewhat choppy waters.

The sailor knows that she is being divinely guided to glide with the rhythms of her heart toward the perfect shore.

The sun above the sails has become the Wish Granting Jewel mantra, while the winds arch in a protective motion against a magnificent pink sky.

As purple confetti showers giddily fall upon her ship, this sailor celebrates her newfound power.

She now knows how to turn off the mind’s noise, embrace the quiet and allow the silence to nourish her body, mind and spirit.

From the bliss of inner calm, life sails on the waters of truth.

Stacey ordered her door protector when her health and the state of her home reflected her inner turmoil. She was not sure what to change first, but knew she was ready for both direction and support.

Faced with a long time waiting for her custom sacred art to be completed, the client decided to order a blessed reproduction as a physical reminder that she was ready for change and indeed she was!

By the time I installed the original, Stacey had regained physical strength, she was in the process of removing decades of accumulated clutter out of the home, and with renewed clarity of mind, was planning for a complete home renovation.

Upon unveiling the art, Stacey was visibly taken by its beauty, and when I told her that the art reflected the beauty of living her truth and once again feeling empowered, I saw tears of gratefulness, joy and love mimicking the showers of confetti on her door protector.

The reproduction art helped her safely move forward on the most prescient issues. The customized original art would assist her, as many door protector owners attest, in uncovering deeper life circumstances and sailing through any storm as if protective winds and loving skies were showering joyful confetti to calm the waters and steady the lifeboat.

Stacey now knows that by working with the energy of her door protector, and embodying its ancient wisdom, she becomes a powerful sailor, sharing her authentic self, her skills and her talents with grace and ease.

I invite you to order your own Door Protector, or purchase blessed reproductions right now.

Creating the Life She Deserves

KelleyDoorPro-LidiaKenig201
Door Protector Kristin K, by Lidia Kenig

When you make a decision to move your life in a different direction, it is not easy to find your compass. All you know is what you do not want, and the decisions you make under those circumstances are always based on what you already know. Kristin K. found the courage to make geographical and spiritual changes. Some alterations were indeed based on the known. Other choices were guided by a willingness to suspend judgment and trust the unknown.

She made sure of it.

Besieged by a series of very difficult life circumstances that culminated in a house fire, the young woman began to seek radical change. Backed by the financial security of a job she loves, her first decision was to move away from the town and the relationships she felt stifled by and that continued to engender suffering.

Along with various new experiences geared to make changes in her lifestyle, Kristin decided to take the Painting from the Heart Classes I offered, and when it was time to sell the old house, she ordered a Door Protector even before she moved to her new digs. She stated that faced with the many unknowns, she was confident that the sacred art I was to create would help her feel supported.

The painting classes revealed untapped artistic talent and provided reassurance when trusting her intuition. She enjoyed playing with new materials, successfully dealt with frustration and created unexpectedly beautiful paintings that she was pleased to hang in her new space.

Soon after we installed the Door Protector, Kristin stated that she now feels safer, was inspired to make room for an art studio and started to meet people whom she felt were kindred spirits. She also made positive changes in her activity levels, adding variety, emphasizing exploration and dedicated time for reflection.

The artwork I created for Kristin reflects her deep desire to heal negative past karma and end the suffering caused by incorrect perceptions. As I chanted the mantra and painted, I felt that she was ready for an entirely new vision.

Looking at the left side of the painting, the red colored section implies fire that burns and transforms. It is balanced on the right, by the splashing waves of a blue ocean ready to cleanse and purify the soul.

The Ancient Chinese coins on the fire side are a symbol for the solidity and abundance of heaven and earth, offering the wealth of lessons learned, while the gold mirrors on the water side provide sources for wisdom and reflection upon which to build a new life.

The bottom center is dominated by a beautiful Seraphinite crystal; one of the premier healing stones, emphasizing that healing must occur at the cellular level, in order to allow old patterns of imbalance to be flushed away and new patterns of radiant health to be formed.

A bright double rainbow emerges from the purifying and regenerating effects of fire and water, implying that today’s troubles will come to pass, if one holds strong to one’s vision. The pure light will illuminate the path to awakening and to a life filled with blessings and abundance at all levels.

A tear-drop Bloodstone, the consummate heart healer, points directly to the Ancient Wish Granting Jewel mantra, and is supported on the back of the painting by the Negative Karma Cleansing mantra, both written in Tibetan Sanskrit script. See, A Well Built Hut for more information on the mantra and its meaning.

Bloodstone has been recognized since ancient times as the stone of courage and healing. The stone’s green background stands for the heart chakra, while red is the vibrational color of the first chakra, thus the stone instills courage of the heart in the face of difficulties and offers the emotional balance of the first chakra’s connection to the earth.

As all the symbols converge on the mantra, we can observe that it reveals infinity and its field of possibility beyond it.

The Door Protector is thus intended to support its owner in summoning the courage to act upon inner guidance, cut through seemingly insurmountable difficulties and own the power to create a deserved new life.
